Chris Froome's bike at auction for Denmarks Fund-raising

  • Events

Now Chris Froome's original Tour de France bike from 2018 can be yours!

In connection with Denmark's Fund-raising 2020, we have put this bike up for auction, of which the entire amount will go exclusively to Children on the Run.

The former owner, and quadruple Tour de France winner, is none other than Christopher Froome, who during the Tour de France 2018 raced on the world's largest cycling team, Team Sky (which today is called Team Ineos). The world's biggest bike race, in 2018, was won by Froome's teammate, Geraint Thomas.

The bike is a Pinarello Dogma K10 DSS, specially designed to ride on rough terrain, in the form of gravel and cobblestones, which is why all the riders on Team Sky during the Tour de France 2018, ran on this exact 9th stage model where they had to cross several cobblestones between Arras and Roubaix. This bike is very unique and there are few pieces in the world.

The frame is designed so that it can be integrated into Shimano's electronic gear group, as well as the special suspension system, the Dogma Suspension System (DSS), which is connected directly to the battery, providing extra comfort on rough terrain. The crankset is uniquely tailor-made for Chris Froome, which is why the previous model, the Shimano Dura-Ace FC-9000 edition, incorporates oval Osymmetric blades as well as integrated Stages wattmeter, which is one of the hallmarks of Chris Frome's setup. Also, there are integrated climbing shifters, which the Tour de France winner is known to use both in cobblestones and hilly terrain. The wheelset is the lightweight Shimano Dura-Ace C35 with the associated rare Pro Limited tubular tires that only the professional riders normally use.

All additional gear and components are the top models from Team Sky's former sponsors: Pinarello, Most, Shimano, Stages, Continental and Elite.

The bike has been test-driven and fitted for Chris Froome, as well as being on the team car as a spare bike on one stage of the Tour de France 2018. The total new price is over 10.000 EUR.
